After defeating Lassal, the second boss of the Infernal Reliquary is Vitaah. But there are several conditions that must be met before participating in this second Diablo Immortal Assault clash, including a massive required combat score. We detail all this in this guide.

Diablo Immortal has planned to keep players busy with various high-level activities, including 8-player Assault bosses via the Infernal Reliquary. The first boss is Lassal, the second is Vitaath. It is much more powerful than its predecessor, with a more complex strategy.

Diablo Immortal Vitaath

How Do I Unlock Vitaath?

Vitaath is now available in Diablo Immortal. But you have to be a dolphin or a whale (or play with such players) in order to have a chance to beat it as early as July. You must have defeated Lassal in its 3 versions to unlock Vitaath, including the version that requires 1640 Combat Score.

The prerequisite for Battle Score to face Vitaath is 2000 for its first version, 2450 for its second version, and 3465 for its 3rd version (you read that right). Suffice to say that you will have to be very patient, or spend a lot of real money to kill the latest version.

Vitaath Stance

Once the prerequisites are met, and the corresponding update is rolled out by Blizzard, you should have a quest that will take you to talk to Cain once again, as well as the characters related to the Infernal Reliquary. You will have to go to a portal located near the entrance to the Cavern of Echoes, in order to unlock the boss.

Fight against Vitaath

This boss has 4 life bars, which represent as many different phases. However, here are some general tips before detailing them:

  • Like Lassal, this boss throws tons of AoEs all over the room, including Ice AoEs similar to those in the Cavern of Echoes. Freezing yourself will expose you to a devastating attack.
  • Enemy reinforcements arrive from phase 2, they must be killed urgently. The boss is immune to damage while other enemies are alive.
  • Vitaath has frontal attacks in addition to its AoE, you have to be careful with its orientation, especially in melee.
  • Ranged classes should strive to attack from as far away as possible. The members of the group must also move away from each other.
  • Manage your healing potion well, you need at least one charge for the end, and the cooldown is also to be taken into account.
  • Use manual resurrections on other party members. Save the resurrection stones for the end of the fight, when the situation will really escalate since the difficulty will increase.

Learning how to properly handle each boss’s ability is key to success. Being on voice and giving instructions, or warning other members of the Onslaught that ability is coming (or about to end) can mean the difference between life and death.

Phase 1 – 1st life bar

Teleportation: Vitaath teleports a short distance and attacks nearby players randomly.

Ice Stalactites: She casts a spell that makes 4 blue circles appear, then she drops 4 ice stalactites inside. The damage is massive.

Stalagmite line and sword blow: The boss has 2 frontal attacks, one linear in front of her, and one with a large sword blow that covers a wide cone. They are relatively easy to dodge.

Ice Affliction: Much like lassal’s bomb on a player, a member of the assault will be afflicted by an effect that can damage his teammates. He must isolate himself in a corner as long as he is affected.

Phase 2 – 2nd life bar

The boss teleports to the center of the area before rising into the air. Various enemies will appear and Vitaath will continue to use the rain of icy stalactites.

Ice Clones: Copies of Vitaath will use some of the boss’s abilities, such as linear attack. The 3 clones must die for Vitaath to become vulnerable again.

Frozen Shadow: An enemy who attacks from a distance.

Frozen Construction: An enemy who attacks in melee.

Once the clones are dead, Vitaath descends and she gains a rotating whirlwind of ice that will sweep the entire room, you have to turn with it or move away enough to dodge them.

Phase 3 – 3rd life bar

Icy explosion: Ice waves will be emitted in all directions by the boss at the beginning of the phase.

The stalactites of the second phase will also turn into frozen shadows. You have to kill them while managing the boss’s other abilities.

Phase 4 – Last Life Bar

The boss triggers the same elements as in phase 2, but without flying away. Instead, she will continue to fight and use all her abilities, as well as 2 new ones:

Ice star: 8 rays of ice leave the center of the zone to form a star. You have to move away and sneak between the shelves.

Stalactite rain: Ice peaks regularly fall to the ground and freeze players.

You have the choice between killing the clones and then Vitaath, or trying to kill her before the assault goes there.

Booty

The rewards are similar to those obtained by killing Lassal. This includes increasing Slag for each build, bonus Slag the first time you kill her in each mode with your Warband, and an Ice Claw to place in the Reliquary to unlock a new Score bonus combat strength of +30 and a passive bonus in Rifts.
