Of the 666 orange numbers that exist, 664 have been recovered. This required tens of thousands of clicks on the famous gem, but it did not put off the players who participated in the effort. Then you had to cut out each number. Indeed, the first three digits represent the position of the word in the text. That said, it seems that the text is a kind of summary of the history of Sanctuary and the events that took place in the different games. Thus, Vision of the Towering Heart summarizes the events before Diablo 1, while the passage talking about a child held in the depths of the earth is irretrievably reminiscent of Albrecht. We also understand the passages that address the case of primordial demons and inferior demons. It even seems that a reference is made to Hellfire in Vision of Grizzled Eyes.
Subsequently, the text speaks of a shadow that must probably be the prowler of Diablo 2. We then move on to the third episode and Reaper of Souls with references to the Black Soul Stone or Tyrael. Perhaps the text also addresses the world as it will be at the launch of Diablo 4.
Right now, it’s hard to imagine the text being anything other than a summary of Diablo’s story. It is indeed important to keep in mind that the numbers in orange seem to have existed for at least 9 to 10 months. The first screenshot of such a number dates from the end of last year, which excludes a teaser on a feature that would arrive with patch 2.6 for example.
